Video Production Consultant
The West Africa Biodiversity and Climate Change Program (WA BiCC) is looking for a Video Production Consultant to assist the program in developing captivating video products to tell the stories of the program.
About WA BiCC
The West Africa Biodiversity and Climate Change (WA BiCC) program is a five-year learning program funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) that aims to improve conservation and climate-resilient, low-emissions growth across West Africa. Although regional in scope and design, WA BiCC focuses on targeted geographical areas within the region to improve governance and policy over critical natural and human systems. By working through the core regional partners, Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), Mano River Union (MRU) and the Abidjan Convention, and with targeted national and sub-national institutions, WA BiCC increases the capacity of institutions at all levels to address the three core WA BiCC components. These are combatting wildlife trafficking, increasing coastal resilience to climate change and reducing deforestation, forest degradation, and biodiversity loss.
WA BiCC is implemented by Tetra Tech ARD, in association with five subcontractors, also referred to as implementing partners: Palladium, Center for International Earth Science Information Network (CIESIN), PCI Media Impact (PCI) and Pact, Inc.
Background
Over the lifespan of the WA BiCC, major events and field activities will be organized under the 3 technical components of the program. Therefore, it is pertinent on the part of WA BiCC’s Communications Unit to produce video documentaries that will serve as tools to capture lessons learned in the WA BiCC focal areas during the course of implementation of program activities as well as to capture visual content of key activities for records and possible broadcasting on the WA BiCC website, social media, as well as national and international television stations. These video documentaries would be used to reach a wide range of audiences to influence knowledge, attitudes and practices relating to biodiversity conservation and climate change. The target audiences will include the general public, decision makers, regional stakeholders and donors.
Objectives
The overall goal of the consultancy is to produce high quality videos for the WA BiCC Program.
The specific objectives of the videos are to:
- Facilitate knowledge management and learning (of best practices) among program stakeholders to engender behavior change and adaptation.
- Increase decision makers’ visual knowledge of the issues surrounding biodiversity conservation and climate change in West Africa for the purpose of learning and adapting.
