The core area of the Taï National Park within Côte d’Ivoire is well protected, but it is becoming increasingly isolated as the greater surrounding landscape, ecosystems, and habitat that sustain the park and its biodiversity are fragmented. Available human and financial resources to manage and protect the forest and offer communities viable livelihood alternatives are not sufficient to stem these trends.
