The overall goal of Fibers of Change was to protect and advance biodiversity in the degraded forest area along the Volta River near Akuse by creating sustainable livelihoods and strengthening the management of community-based conservation efforts and establishing alternative revenue streams through handcrafting and selling products that make sustainable use of natural resources (water hyacinth).
