Understanding Threats to West African Biodiversity and Linkages to Wildlife Trafficking: Nigeria Field Assessment Report

Nigeria is characterized by a very rich biodiversity, ranging from the river systems of the Niger Delta to the mountains that border Cameroon. In total, there are 274 mammals, 941 birds, 109 amphibians, 135 reptiles and 5209 species of flowering plants. Nigeria has 91 endemic flora species belonging to 44 families.
