VIDEO: Improving Wildlife Law Enforcement in West Africa: A Look at Progress in Ghana.

Wildlife trafficking remains an issue in West Africa significantly due to the gap in the implementation of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Flora and Fauna (CITES) regulations at the national and regional levels. In 2016, WA BiCC sponsored 11 students from West Africa to undergo a Masters’ Program to strengthen the capacity of beneficiary institutions in combating wildlife trafficking. So far, beneficiaries are implementing their acquired knowledge in various ways to improve wildlife law enforcement in their respective countries. Here is a look at progress in Ghana.
